Re: $US51.59/kWh for a four hour battery

The knockout price was a bid of $US51.59/kWh for a four hour battery (the average was $US59c/kWh), which Energy Storage News says represents a 30 per cent drop from 2024 levels, and others side was a 15 per cent fall from recent record lows. So is that 51 dollars or 51 cents and an average of 59 do...

Re: Xlinks snub

You don't put 25% of your countries power supply in the hands of another country. Sorry Morroco but you're not a stable enough platform. One of the best North African states though. You certainly don't rely on a multiple 000's K set of lines in relatively shallow water either. There's a lot can go ...

Re: Xlinks snub

Hi Dan, If I was the Xlinks CEO I think my head would have been cheaper short cable to Spain saves me X million Euro's which equals Y more PV panels and mounts with gives me Z more MW and I have the ability to sell my power across the whole of Europe and beyond. Intresting video spoilt by those presenting constantly mixing up the units for power and energy, you would have thought that those working with electrics day in day out would know when to use kW and when to use kWh.

Re: Outbuildings and why they're great. (Vanport)

Plumb a 25L jerry can under the ASHP to catch the condensate. Its distilled water, which is basically what RO is, just a different method of getting it. Great for all sorts, even putting in the iron, though limescale isnt exactly an issue up here. Condensate from an ASHP has many more contaminates ...

Re: Dynamic Line Rating

I seem to remember a previous thred about this sort of thing. iirc lines are normally limited to the capacity of worst case conditons so hot weather wth no wind, by moanitring the lne they can increase that to take advantage of more suitable conditions and put more power through - or at least someth...

Re: France records negative power prices for most of May

Long(ish) shot, but I wonder if this reflects a wider European change, so 'we' just don't need the cheap excess nuclear as much? Before large scale RE, other countries could always ramp down some more coal and gas, and buy France's excess nice and cheap. Not knocking it, UK etc being able to grab t...
