Re: e-bike battery charging

I now have 7150 mls on my KTM eMTB battery (Bosch system) and I've never tried to be clever about charging. After a ride it gets plugged in and left until the next time I use it. So far I see no degradation in the max range range which is usually 30miles ish. There's actually a huge issue here with ...

Re: generator over voltage

Need a bit more info mate, is it brushed or brushless, if brushed how many sliprings 2 or 3? Brushless. Any circuit diagrams available? I would be trying to measure the excitation coil voltage, sounds like it my be permanently at max, it should obviously change with the load. Check the excitation l...

Re: generator over voltage

I am a mere Mechanical Engineer, but from my distant memory I have to ask A=are you measuring RMS voltage or Peak voltage. RMS x √2 = Peak. So, if you are measuring 230 V and your meter is set to Peak then it will indicate 325V. 240V would indicate 339V. Good point, many cheap multimeters have a pe...

Re: generator over voltage

Currently struggling through a head fog of illness with a 11kw genny that is giving me an over voltage of 333v ac. Its a single phase unit. Tried new AVR's all still give same voltage. Removing avr & output drops to 30v ac. Tested all joints & windings for shorts & cant find any but don...

Re: AC coupled storage system

Burble61 and Westie, as you both have admitted to having PV. ;) Your both not on my secret list yet, the next one is the 50th member and I want to do an update when I get to 50 generating members. https://camelot-forum.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=922 Basically either tell me how much PV y...

Re: AC coupled storage system

With agreement from the FIT provider (easier said than done), the existing inverter could be replaced with a hybrid inverter and if the batteries are capable to be charged from the grid, the generation meter can be changed for a bi-directional one. https://theecosupermarket.co.uk/product/emlite-eca...

Re: AC coupled storage system

I don't see why keeping the existing AC-coupled PV and putting it on the output side of the hybride inverter would be in breach provided it does not involve changing the existing Total Generation metering arrangement. What aspect is it your FIT company does not like? Thanks Sharpener but you've los...

Re: AC coupled storage system

The squirrel pod is “Agile Aware” too. However there aren’t many people for whom Agile works. Go is almost always a better choice. Thanks for that Stinsy , that looks very interesting. Will do some research on Lux for sure. I agree re- the Go tariff but I don't have an EV as I still travel quite a ...
