Re: Why bother with Air Source Heat Pump
£6k plus fitting (and any new rads etc) for a huge 17kW system https://www.tradesparky.com/solarsparky/heating/air-source-heat-pumps/grant-hpid17r32-17kw-ashp-cw-hoses-valves Would have got me £7,000 in rebates off Gov over 7 years. Just needs an MSC Registered installer. So the unit would have cost...

Why bother with Air Source Heat Pump
Now that the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive ends on March 31st why bother to get something installed? I was thinking about having an Air Source Heat Pump installation but will miss out of £7,000 of Gov repayments due to the scheme ending. I could still have the install and then suddenly find in 1...

Re: EV Charge INSIDE House for Battery
Can't see why they haven't adapted to simply allow overnight tariff to charge house battery set-up - surely it's the same result - spreading out the pressure on the grid. Cos they can stiff you on a E7 tariff, cheap rate 20p, top rate 30p+. But that's it - why would they bother giving an EV tariff ...

Re: EV Charge INSIDE House for Battery
Thank You Both - good responses that covered it I think. The issue I have is I only do 2,000 miles a year so can't see the point in buying an EV. So, if i MUST buy one, it would be the cheapest electric rust bucket I could buy just to get the V5 document just to get on the Tariff - which is frustrat...

EV Charge INSIDE House for Battery
Humour me.............. Assuming you can get on the Octopus Go Tariff (Electric Vehicle V5 needed) or a similar low cost night tariff. Is it possible to connect a Car Charging lead to charge a Battery Storage system and then plug the charging end into a Charging Point installed inside the house? I b...

Re: Heavy Duty Set-Up or 4 Smaller Set-Ups ?
Thank You guys Being honest, i can get 5% with Ripple I believe so I want a return close to that if possible. Both have risks. My money is sat in premium bonds doing nothing. Im happy for tenants to save money, but not at the expense of my investment : it has to work or I might just leave where it i...

Re: Heavy Duty Set-Up or 4 Smaller Set-Ups ?
Single Phase - 4 incoming metered supplies (each flat has its own incoming supply) https://i.postimg.cc/rd7qwgCq/IMG-20211109-142631.jpg Unfortunately, 3 of my 4 current Tenants all work at the same location at the same times so showers may well be taken at same time (probably not but never know lol...

Heavy Duty Set-Up or 4 Smaller Set-Ups ?
I've added my enquiry here as my original in Battery Storage was not including Solar Panels, now it is............ OK - my roof is West facing = 21M x 3M East Facing = 21M x 3M Pic Attached (the car in pic gives an idea of roof size better) The TOTAL electric use across all 4 tenanted flats is 10,00...

Re: Battery Storage (no Solar Panels)
OK - my roof is West facing = 21M x 3M East Facing = 21M x 3M Pic Attached The TOTAL electric use across all 4 flats is 10,000 kWh per Year. What would people suggest please? My budget is £30,000 but it needs to pay me back before I die (hopefully 20-40 years left yet :D ) Should I treat it as one ...

Re: Battery Storage (no Solar Panels)
HaHa my mind just went off on one....................... If I purchased the cheapest electric car off autotrader (£1700) I could get the Octopus Go 7.5p night tariff. Is there any money to be made by storing that night electric and just selling it back to Octopus during the day? I could keep Tenants...
