Re: Moving battery system out of roofspace

Yes you need to use glands, easy to do a few you tube videos will sort you, the gland earths the armour ensuring that in the event day of a spade damaging the cable the armour which is now earthed will activate the protective device Earth it at both ends of each cable? I was going to use one of the...

Re: Moving battery system out of roofspace

Can you not take the SWA directly to the RCBO and AC Isolators with the correct gland packs? it would eliminate a few potential terminations to go wonky?? I know SWA is nota the easiest stuff to manipulate but I personally think it worth it. Normally the gland earths the armour, but if your enclosu...

Moving battery system out of roofspace

Hi, My battery systems comprises Lux ACS3600 units, Pylons & Chinese stacks are currently installed in loft space. The original installation of the initial lux unit and pylons was undertaken professionally in 2019. I’ve just simply added to this over the years. Of course there’s now an awful lot...

Re: Octopus Go Intelligent in practice ….

Ok, so the deed is done. XC40 recharge has been ordered & will be delivered shortly. Does anyone have experience of using an electric Volvo with IOG? Once Ive got it I’ll go through the switchover process. Ive updated my Zappi with the latest sofware.

Re: EDF to bring 300MW of BESS online

They make it hard to work out but its in MWp for 2 hours so its 313MWp and 626MWh capacity. https://www.edf-re.uk/news-and-views/edf-renewables-accelerates-uks-energy-superpower-ambitions-with-over-300mw-of-battery-storage-projects/ Thanks for that. They probably use the same “communication” team a...

Re: EDF to bring 300MW of BESS online

Was I the only one to notice the probable error in this headline? 300MW? Surely it’s 300MWh? Power stations are rated by power output, which is a continuous measure. Storage should be correctly described - IMO of course …… I think this has been raised before, iirc one opinion is that since it will ...

Additional Chinese stacks ……..

The count increases. Another 30 x 280Ah cells have just arrived at mine from Derily. So I think that’s another 27kWh for whoever’s keeping the tally. They aren’t for me but for my brother and will be whizzed off to his in the next few days to sit across his existing Pylons. Weirdest thing was that t...

Re: Octopus Go Intelligent in practice ….

Did they go beyond the chademo connection on the leaf and install ccs? We had a leaf, liked it very much. No, Chademo only. The Leaf has recently gone out of production, so consequently there are some good deals to be had as stocks are good. Having had a couple of previous 40 & 50kWh vehicles w...
