Re: Self build in Lincolnshire…..

Ok, so here’s the update after a couple of weeks radio silence. 4 of my 10 Pylons have now gone - thus funding the purchase of the second Chinese Stack. I’ve asked Colin for a quote and will get that ordered ASAP. It’s a crazy time of year to have your battery capacity reduced by 40%, but needs must...

Re: Installation of a 23kWh home battery (retrospective)

That bloke from Artisan REALLY hacks me off, the bloke's a chancer, who's been trying hard to gain views on YouTube as a business for the past year or so, and is using more stupid clickbait facial expressions and video titles every week. He also has some complete blithering idiots working for him, ...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

To be clear, Colin is shipping these cells using DDP. DDP it stands for delivery, duty paid. This means that he/they are taking the commercial risk of shipping to your door, with all duties etc paid. The International Chamber of Commerce has a set of commercial terms & conditions for internatio...

Ha ha, I’m with you on that one. I can remember config information on equipment I worked on 40+ years ago, but ask me what I had for breakfast & I’d struggle to remember……..

Re: Self build in Lincolnshire…..

And typically I can’t find the lugs supplied with the unit. The manual describes them as M6, so I’m assuming a M6 lug with a 6mm hole? I’m torn between buying the £10 crimp tool you hit with a hammer, or a £27 ish hydraulic crimper which seems a lot more elegant for just a little extra. Rob The ter...

Re: Self build in Lincolnshire…..

Ok, so today’s status is that I have a DPD tracking number from Colin in China who tells me they have been shipped. It’s not showing on there as yet though. 45 days from yesterday will make delivery during the 1st week of January. Given that I need to make space for them, I’ve started that activity ...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

Thanks 👍 I’ll think I’ll take an actual voltage that isn’t the LEDs off “100”, maybe slightly less than that. Or even wait for the Pylons to drop down to whatever the Chinese stack is at before throwing the Frankenstein switch. It’s all quite some time away however, and I have lots & lots of pre...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

The reason I’ve replied to this particular post relates to the voltage of the fully charged Pylon stack - which Joe has stated for him is 52.9 volts @ 100%. So I’ve just measured mine (as it’s just finished charging using Go Faster). I only have 50.8 volts. My config is a LuxPower 3600 ACS with 5 x...
