Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

That's the buckboard power supply professionaly cabletied to a bit of old board. Ran it up, tried the pot, all good. https://i.postimg.cc/pyLMrtWx/20220915-152348.jpg Decided to check out the top voltage on the Pylontechs. My batteries slowdown considerably after 88% soc, they can charge there for ...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

Hey guys, Back on the original topic of battery build. Just purchased; 16x (1 spare) EVE 304s @ $113 p/u + $275 (delivery + import duty)+ $64 transaction fee (2.99%) + approx $40 exchange fees (£1844) from Deriy Technologies. Bus bars and bolts come included Asked them if they can fully balance the...

Re: Self build in Lincolnshire…..

So, it’s started! Batteries ordered, just waiting confirmation & then the big wait. Excellent dialogue with Colin, who turned the quote etc round within hours. I’ll be busy though in making space for them. I currently have 10 Pylon US2000s arranged in 2 x stacks of 5. Plan is still to have 2 st...

Self build battery - precautions…..

Hi, Whilst I’m pondering if/how to proceed with this, a thought entered my mind about safety issues surrounding such a build. Whilst an off the shelf battery, eg Pylon etc, will cost more £, it does come with a number of safety related attributes such as CE marking etc, which a self build can’t. Thi...

Re: Nowty Towers Vs UK Grid Storage

3.8kWh here! Battery capacity ran out, ie 10%, at 6pm due to prolonged use of tumble dryer by daughter whilst we were out 😕

That was despite charging to 100% last night on Go Faster.

I think I need more battery capacity 🤐

Solar Edge: Monitoring 3rd party battery …

Hi, Ok, so I have 3 Solar Edge inverters and a pair of AC connected LuxPower/Pylon battery banks. On the SE monitoring app, the batteries are essentially invisible with their in/out just being nett of the house consumption- if that makes sense. In a recent on-line chat with SE about something totall...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

But how meaningful is the SoC reported by the Pylon to the inverter? Am trying to get my head round that. It is actually still useful, because the net result of adding more capacity in parallel just means the Pylontechs have less work to do, ie discharge slower, so the SOC drops more slowly than it...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

That’s very impressive. Would it be possible to have just a single Pylon working with the self build battery? I’m assuming so. My logic being that I could keep my single, new, 2000C and sell the existing 4 x 2000s to finance the new battery and end up with a much bigger overall capacity. The proble...
