Re: What tariff?

Just had an email from Octopus informing of the new lower rates from April. I'm on the Cosy tariff, so the standard rate is following Flexible and going from 28 - 24p/kWh. The added bonus though is that they're changing the discount and premium rates, so the discounted double dip slots will be disco...

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?

Bingo! Hi R, Today we're announcing our 4th project. We wanted you to be the first to know it will be a wind farm. Not only that, but it's a BIG one. Once constructed it is set to be the UK's biggest people-owned renewable energy project. The location is still tightly under wraps whilst we go throug...

Re: New ground array

Yeah I found this doc which shows the reduction in current for 2 strings. The current will be 13ish max so with the new panels generating about 300ishV, should be fine. It was already wired with just a single break in the cables by the official electricians when they installed it year and half ago a...

Re: New ground array

Thanks. Just did the cable pull an hour ago so missed that trick, but the duct had a pull cord in there and it went fine. Managed to get that done before the rain just arrived, and wired it into the DC isolator. No more on that today now, got a day of helping the family neighbours fruit tree plantin...

Re: New ground array

Bit of progress. Twin pipex50m and 8 panels delivered last week, timber and 650mm ground anchors delivered start of this week, so made a start and put together the timber supports, and moved it all into position in the field. Next is to clear the grass to get the concrete blocks it will sit on in a ...

Re: New ground array

Not familiar with that story? I imagine a wind turbine would have pretty huge cantilever forces acting on its anchor points, depending on where it was attached to the mast? Thankfully this solar frame is only going to be 1.2m-ish off the ground at the highest point, so the loads 'shouldn't' be as la...
