"Actually you don't even need to do a SORN and then re-tax, you just re-tax it again using your Reg and V5 ref online."

Epic tip. I have just taxed all 3 EV's up to Oct 24 :)

Re: Millionth pure battery electric car sold in UK after 20 years

"I found the answer with a little bit of research" Im glad you did because I am sure that 1/3rd would not have been lost to battery failure ! I am coming up for 10 years EV driving in March 2025. I didn't feel like an early adopter at the time as the leaf had been out 4 years by the time I...

Re: Morrisons forecourts to change

Hopefully they put in a range of charges and not just 150's. 50kw would be a good match for an average 50-75kWh battery car and a 30-60min dwell time at a supermarket. 150's are a risk of being blocked and underutilized by someone doing a "big shop".

Hybrid heavy truck with a difference.

This popped up on my FB feed the other day. Looks like a good idea to me as it avoids having to replace trucks currently in use. I'm sure there will be some reason why it cant be used in the UK or Europe due to weight or length. Interesting concept none the less for countries with roads big enough t...

Re: Liz's energy subsidy.

The cost seems bonkers, £150bn estimate and that assumes prices will be down to acceptable level in 2 years time. If prices are still high, what happens then. I think Rishi had a better idea of targeting support where needed to lower incomes to keep the cost under control. People on higher incomes £...

Re: Conundrum - Fixed Tariffs

Is it possible for you to charge your battery overnight. Maybe an E7 rate may be worth it depending upon the size of your battery. Octopus Go is good but you now need an EV to join. Not looked to much at the market as I have been on Octopus for years.

Re: 15 EU countries have >15% BEV market share

I have been tentatively looking at a BEV for SWIMBO. The delivery times are huge. Shutdowns in Shanghai affect MG, Tesla, and probably others I am not aware of, VW said 12-18 months for ID4. Kia were Sept onward for EV6 but quicker for Niro. I thought about dumping her relatively new ICE now while p...

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation

Does 30,0000 kWh not include all the "stuff" we consume as well ?. It just seems very high. We now have most stuff on electric so it is easy to quantify. Estimate (heat pump fitted 3 months ago) is about 30,000 kWh for heat, electricity, and running 2 ev's. We also have 3 ICE. C. 25k miles...
