Re: Tripping mcb

Thanks all for the advice and suggestions. I will pass them on - I might have to go back again if they can't get hold of their usual electrician quickly (not surprisingly, was no answer yesterday, and I wouldn't be that surprised if they are rushed off their feet post storm)

Tripping mcb

Not really solar related, but wondering if anyone has helpful suggestions. Been at my in-laws this afternoon - they had a couple of power outages during & after the storm. After the first one their boiler sprung a leak, then after the 2nd one, one of the mcbs on the consumer unit will not reset....

Re: 2025 planting ..........

Garlic is up & looking good.
I've just planted onion seeds & a few sweet peas in trays inside, with a heated mat & also trying out full spectrum grow lights (only cheapo usb ones) to see if they help

Re: Storm impact

Hope everyone on here is OK - it's been pretty wild up in Northumberland - met office highest predicted gusts today was 83mph and it felt like it. Probably the highest I've ever seen. So far only the washing airer has succumbed - should have brought it in - Doh! Also loads of powercuts in the area -...

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov

Shouldn't need any tomorrow, given the wind levels forecast - or will it be too strong, so meaning the turbines have to be furled??
Forecast is over 70mph up here!! Highest I've seen the forecast in the 7 years I've been up here - hoping that everything stays tied down :xx:

Re: diy battery, nissan leaf gen3 cells

I found some Nissan leaf cells on Facebook, bought 72x gen1 (brand new never used) cells from the guy pretty cheap Talking to him, he does battery swaps on cars for a living, has supplied loads of cells to people making home battery storage, has some bms setups etc. etc. Went to see him again about...

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov

Better to export then? I've not kept up with the best way to operate in these times. even if you don't usually import so your baseline is zero, by signing up you get octopoints for being in, plus credit for what you export. p.s. I have just looked at my Octopus account and seen the invitation to jo...

Re: Snowy panels

The snow is all frozen, so it's not going to brush off. I am now getting a massive 2W from the hoymiles and 160W from the sunsynk (which are half clear due to a bit of melting and slipping) I'm slightly concerned about my van, which has an 80W panel on the roof, and trickle charges the main battery ...

I've been away for a couple of days - wondering why my hoymiles panels, were reading literally 0😂

(clue - it's the hump on the roof)
