Re: extra battery or more PV?
In my case I charged the existing 3 x 2.5 to 90% and then took them out of circuit, inserted a new 5 kw and charged to 90% then reconnected the other 3 with with the new one as master, it all went well with no problems.

Re: extra battery or more PV?
I would/have opted for more battery, enough to cover daily consumption in the winter. PV is no use on a dark winter's night when your batteries have expired and you revert to full price power.

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours
This is exactly the same as me. I used £2.46 extra and only received 2p credit for the 21-08-24 session. I gave 31aug session a miss because of this. I ignored the last session as well. I've had a response from Octopus and they 'thought' I was complaining about my meter. I've asked them to read the...

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours
I'm still awaiting the credit for the last one, they decided I'd used only 2p extra. Email to chase that and copied to Greg, I'll wait and see before I use any extra this time.

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours
I've just been told that I used 2p extra leccy during the period. The website says I used 3.4 kWh during the hour compared to a normal of zero. An email asking for clarification sent. Just spotted the post above. Octopus may have an issue!! P.P.S. I've checked the recorded smart readings and the met...

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours
Mine's set to 100% for today's session and I've just dragged out a 3Kw log saw to cut some timber free for an hour, fingers crossed etc.

I'm not connected other than as a customer but give the link below a call for Pylontech prices. I recently purchased a 5Kw for £1200 inc vat but not delivery.

I'm on an Octopus Mini which combined with the Luxpower inverter on the PC I can get all the information I need.
