We fitted Solar in 2011 and then retrofitted AC coupled batteries in 2022, best move we've made. The cost of batteries is going back down a bit now and with the import unit price the pay-back time is fairly short.

Plus 1 for that and go for a rolling 1 month contract so if you find a better deal or they hike the prices too high you can get out faster and at no cost.

At current Kerosene prices, 72p to 80p down here in the SW, I'd be looking for a willing buyer with a suitable pump and empty oil drums. The loss on the oil will probably be less than a tractor engine repair.

It's a gamble here, we installed ours in 2011 so we have 14 years left of FIT BUT we are both 73 years old. I don't which will hit us first, I hope it's the FIT end!!
