Re: Decision time...

We were on a fix @ £0.16p until May this year and defaulted to variable but have just fitted batteries so we really need a sensible T.O.U. tariff to appear, at present no one is offering anything, especially to new customers.

Re: Decision time...

My gut feel and fag packet calcs come up with about 30% for leccy. The "Green Levy" could be removed from fixed tariffs with no problems, where the money is coming from to pay us our FIT's is anyone's guess. I hope all the providers will now come up with some new tariffs fixed for 2 years ...

Re: FiT complaint result!

We've been with EDF from 2011. They reserve the right to pay 90 days after the end of the reading month. Normally we get the payment "invoice" within 2 days of my reading and the bank transfer 1 or 2 days later. According to the lady who comes to read our meter (infrequently) they have bee...

Re: Cybersecurity

Just to confuse the world even further I've just had an email from Western Power Distribution to say they are becoming National Grid. Have they been reorganised and nationalised? They were "spun off" from SWEB when it was deemed by the powers the be that they might favour SWEB customers ov...

Re: Electricity demand

Belgium were taking about 2 Gw early this morning but are supplying 0.9 Gw to us now. Swings & etc, I think that's the way it should work Putin and French nuclear being the exception.

Re: Solar Output in this heat

We're not complaining as we're on 2011 FIT so export does not effect our income and the slightly lower figures for total generation in the scheme of things is not a lot. Our current FIT is £0.625 per unit this year (including the 50% deemed export).

Re: Solar Output in this heat

How does the cost of a (mains water) spray - if you can reach it - compare with the increased generation it might bring? (Granted, people on meters pay for disposal of all incoming water even if they consume it on-site, although people not on meters can use it will-nilly!) In the early days,2011, I...

Solar Output in this heat

I'm wondering how other owners are impacted by the current excess heat in the sun. My panels are mounted on a steel profile roof, which I guess is probably too hot to touch at present. My daily output is down by about 5Kwh compared to what would be 'normal' on a 3.87 kw array. I'm on a early FIT so ...

Re: Ofgem tells energy firms to take urgent action to fix direct debit problems

I'm with EDF for both supply and FIT. The FIT they pay into my bank within 3-4 days of my meter reading. For the supply they increased my DD by about the correct amount but then refunded £56 that I was in credit without me asking. I'm inclined to stick with them until the market stabilises a bit if ...

Re: Progress on Gravitricity

That's if we have any surplus electrons overnight any more... A bit scary as we currently have 7.7GW on wind and we are still burning Coal and the Open Cycle Gas Turbines are running. :? We seem to be supplying 2-3 GW to France consistently now after Ukraine and the French nuclear shutdown. It used...
