Re: Starting out on my heat pump journey

I'm old enough to remember the saying, I also think the world is going mad with political correctness, soon we won't be able to say anything, as it can all be taken the wrong way :head-bang: A fair while ago there was an Asian building firm in Swindon called Indian Construction, the slogan on the v...

Re: battery secateurs

We have the Stihl version of these and they are just as dangerous, no second safety device. We also have the cordless Stihl hedge trimmer but that does have the second switch in the handle that requires a palm to be resting on it to function, it also has a switch in the loop handle to ensure the oth...

Re: Drax subsidies

A neighbour of mine used to be CEO of the supplier of wood to Drax and a similar one in Scotland, he never managed to convince me about it's Green credentials. In Scotland they were busy buying forests to feed the plant.

I hope Europe and us via our cross channel links ensure they don't have any issues and regret the move.

Plus insert a length of welding rod or similar inside the tube to create a rigid section over the joint.

Re: FIT 25/26 Rates

We installed 3.8 kW panels in 2011 for £15,000. We've since replaced a dying inverter, £1,000, and fitted 15.5 kW of batteries with AC inverter, £7855, and as of 12/24 we were £3230 in profit purely from FIT, not counting the 'free' leccy we've had. We were advised by our Accountants to borrow the m...

Re: Big roof solar - sharing power...

We have 4kw of panels on a steel profile chicken house roof so I feel I should point out that production will drop a lot in a good sunny spell, the panels don't like being too hot. I didn't believe our installers when they came up with the reason for the carp output so I put a lawn sprinkler on the ...

Re: Lux Inverter Problem

I have a AC coupled Luxpower for the batteries and Fronius for the solar. My plan A is always turn everything off, batteries and inverters, leave for 30 secs and turn on again, it's worked every time so far when something loses the plot. Second thoughts: Did it run out of charge time before the 100%...

Re: Fantasy, pure and simple.

Let us not forget that Musk fired 80% of the employees of Twitter and the service continued just fine. I know it shocked some people to find out that if you have an organisation where the HR and Marketing and PR departments vastly outnumber the engineers, and you fire the non-engineers, the company...

Re: Low flow Temp.

Sorry for the delayed reply, something got in the way. When we had the bungalow built we had thermostatic valves on all radiators and motorised valves on CH and DHW. The DHW pipework is 22mm and CH is 22mm to 15mm dropping to 8mm behind plasterboard. As we replace radiators due to external rust or m...
