FIT payment - EDF
Just a heads up folks. EDF are "upgrading" their payments system and moving reading dates. I took my reading as requested and submitted it and got the email acknowledgement as usual. When I queried where my statement/invoice was via email they came back asking for the reading again as the ...

Re: In your Screwfix..
I recently invested in a 5Kw Pylontech for a little over £1200, they were still available at that price the last time I looked.

Re: Can heat pumps be installed in older properties?
I don’t see it as is the property suitable for a heat pump, it should be is the person living in the home ready for heat pump! Many can’t work out existing heating system controls! A lot of properties still have the heating setup as installed by the unskilled installer, unbalanced heating system an...

Re: Renovating an old farmhouse
(The underfloor could drain to one corner and be put in to complement a drained / aired trench around the outside.) A If the south of the moor is the same as here the water table is sometimes at ground level, if you dig a trench or hole it fills to the surrounding surface level. Maybe a block and b...

Re: Renovating an old farmhouse
We had to have Block and Beam floor and air vents all around or a sump with a fan to keep the council happy, and we're we're well clear of the granite.

Re: Renovating an old farmhouse
Hi from 3 miles north of the moor. Have you room for a Ground Source pump especially if you're over granite, it will be a consistent heat input and may even be higher than air temp most of the year? Afterthought: We have a neighbour who recently built a bungalow on Dad's farm and he went Ground Sour...

Re: Solar with Auto Start Genny
Thanks for that CountryPaul. I'll have a think about putting the extras on the same roof as the existing array as I can then tap into the grid connection where the existing setup connects and the new panels/inverter will be safely isolated when the Genny is running. The roof I was hoping to use is s...

Solar with Auto Start Genny
I have a solar array which is wired so that when we lose mains the solar and now batteries are shut down. I am thinking of adding some more 'cheap' panels and inverter to a shed roof but they will be 200 mts from the main distribution for the site. So my question is "how would the new solar pan...
