Re: Cybertruck seized in Manchester
On the subject of cars getting bigger, the first thing that strikes me as I get off the ferry when returning to UK is how tiny and crowded UK roads are. Driving from Austria through Germany and Netherlands on mainly but not exclusively motorway then getting spat off the ferry onto the M62 is an eye ...

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/dec/18/if-a-million-germans-have-them-there-must-be-something-in-it-how-balcony-solar-is-taking-off As ever the UK is up against the crap way final circuits have been wired since the war. The regulators need to get their heads together and decide if 6-80...

Re: Trials and Tribulations of Eco installs.
I agree. I wasnt happy at all. The electrician was, lets just say, highly tempremental with me when i questioned him over the wrongly wired switch and not checking the system. As a person who was alone in the house at the time and suffers from ptsd from an assault 2 years ago, i felt much more comf...

Re: Trials and Tribulations of Eco installs.
The first pic you posted of the new consumer unit in post #62 set the alarm bells ringing for me. If an Electrician can't even be bothered to make sure the bit the customer sees is good with all MCB / RCBO's sitting straight and square within the consumer unit then I know I am going to find corners ...

Re: HPC - Nuclear output currently 2.67 GW
According to National Grid Live Nuclear output is 2.67 GW which is the lowest I've ever come across. The grid seems to be coping adequately all the same, it has me wondering just how low the figure needs to drop to before the "Must have a Nuclear baseline" argument has the wind taken out ...

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Loads of heat pumps round here, can't hear any of them screeching for the noise the snow making machines are making :joker: :freezing: Seriously though gas boilers and decent kitchen / bathroom extractors make more noise than a heatpump although it is possible that the lower frequency sounds from la...

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
I've just gone the other way having taken Cross Climates off my TT and replaced them with a full winter tyre. Nothing wrong with CC just we have a fairly sensible law here that says winter tyres must have 4mm of tread to be considered as winter tyres. My CC's last week had 4.2mm so was going to have...

Re: Another Lister generator problem
OK, managed to remove the valve cover to access the injector, and unscrewed the fuel pipe. Turned the engine over and fuel is coming out. Very odd, had lot's of engines run out of fuel and they've always started, eventually. There appears o be mist coming out of the exhaust. Think it might beyond m...
