Re: 2nd hand EV as a company car?
Lower cost for you, but the BIK for the employee is based on the new price of the car plus accessories, all at new list price. I have always seen this as a lever the motor trade applied to business (via government legislation) to ensure company cars were bought new. There is also the Octopus leasing...

Re: Sunny Home Manager 3-phase with external CTs
Aagghh. RTFM.
Thanks Timbum.
Much higher secondary current than the CTs I have. 20:1 instead of 2500:1
Need to rethink some stuff as I can't run 5A down 50m of twisted pair. (Not that I was anyway with 3-phase potential on the wires ).

Sunny Home Manager 3-phase with external CTs
Hi All, I have decided to switch to an SMA based system. The first step is to install a Sunny Home Manager 2.0 which will monitor the grid import/export and deal with the export limitation of some new Sunny Boy inverters. I installed the Home Manager last week but have been having trouble with the e...

Re: Electronics help required with Sofar ME3000SP
Do you have the Teensy CAN interface in passive mode?
Otherwise your battery will be seeing double ACKs for each message it sends.

Re: Sofar ME3000SP 'Check Charge' cycle
I am in the process of a Sofar ME3000SP install, and I experienced exactly this issue while operating in Auto with only CTa clamp connected. I am using firmware 3.30 (latest as of today). * Charge 30s (inc. 3s ramp-up) * Wait 2s * Standby 2s * Check charge 2s * Ramp-up charge ?s.. As soon as I conn...

Re: sofar me3000sp g100
Firstly, I am not using the CTpv, so there is no reporting of generation.
The system then uses a single CT and the calculated consumption is the balance of what it has measured as import/export from the grid and what power it has sent to the battery.

Re: sofar me3000sp g100
Jon are you sure you have the Import and Export the right way round? Looks to me as though in you second picture it is exporting not importing? Yep. It's two different inverters - L2 and L3. It just so happened one was importing and one exporting (here in the Algarve, currently at 41 degrees). Edit...

Yes, I agree with you - it is not behaving as per the test certificate. Hardware V1.00 Firmware V3.20 (as yours) Auto mode (well, strictly speaking time of use mode) CT disconnected while discharging (first image is before disconnection): https://i.postimg.cc/3kT7WdFJ/Screenshot-2023-08-11-at-18-18-...

Re: sofar me3000sp g100
The G100 certificate is here: https://midsummer.ie/pdfs/sofar-g100-declaration.pdf and says: 4. Response Time G100 requirement The ELS must detect an excursion and reduce the export to the Agreed Export Capacity or less within 5 seconds. ·The response time is less than 5 seconds under communication ...

Re: Musings on public charging
22kW AC chargers are 3phase, so if the car only has a single phase on-board AC-DC charger, the car will only take 7kW. Even in my TM3 I get "only" 11kW from 22kW 3phase Type 2s. I think Tesla Model S/X get 15, along with the eTrons and some of the other German brands. My 2020 MX charges a...
