Re: ifePO4 batteries in outside shed.
I did have a search recently for any insurance recommendations or best practice. This is primarily aimed at commercial, and came from Chubb Hong Kong, but it makes an interesting read: https://www.chubb.com/hk-en/articles/energy-storage-systems-ess-risk-bulletin.html If any of these recommendations ...

Re: Dont buy a tesla, serious fault they fail to recognise happened again.
What sway does that forum hold in your opinion, tesla uk management & systems remind me of useless managers in comfortable chairs not being proactive, hiding behind a wall of silence leaving the poor buggers lower down to firefight over & over... Probably no sway, but is that any different ...

I would say this is one for the Tesla Motors Club forum: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/search/ ... =relevance

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
Ah yes, you are correct - it is an electronic expansion valve. Like this: https://www.bosta.com/en-gb/electronic-expansion-valve-1-3c-7028152m?number=7028152 Looking again at your table, I guess the system is regulating things to maintain a fixed heat output. My Kensa which has an essentially mechan...

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
Nowty - does your GSHP have a cap tube or TXV as its metering device? My Kensa GSHP has a 9kW compressor which always seems to draw 9kW. When the input temp is higher, I just get a higher output temperature, so I suppose a better COP. I can see this as the thermal store temp at the top gets to a hig...

Re: Central heating
I have the same problem occasionally with my Panasonic Aquarea 16kW A2W heat pump running UFH in Portugal. It would throw either H62 - 'Water switch abnormality' indicating the flow rate is too low, or H12 - 'Indoor/Outdoor capacity unmatched'. The H12 error is the most annoying - it basically means...

Re: Sofar ME3000SP 'Check Charge' cycle
Hi Tinbum, No, not in this case. There are two types of CT - one has a burden resistor and one doesn't. In this case, there is no burden resistor in the CT, only a TVS diode to prevent/clamp any unsafe high voltage output. This is why they buzz when clamped without being connected to a load. The bur...

Re: Sofar ME3000SP 'Check Charge' cycle
Interesting. Sensing CT direction during operation would require all PV to be clamped too. I don’t do this as different arrays are connected in different locations making this difficult. The ME3000SP will work fine with no CTpv connected. I couldn’t justify the expense of 3x Sunny Islands when I cou...

Re: Sofar ME3000SP 'Check Charge' cycle
Hi Nowty, Thanks for the reply. I have four on this install - 2x on one phase and one each on the others. All have frozen CTs which everyone should set when configuring these units. I don't believe that the CT direction is checked at any time other than when mains is applied when unfrozen - the only...

Sofar ME3000SP 'Check Charge' cycle
Hello All, I have some ME3000SPs connected to Pylontech batteries. I had a look recently at the cycle the inverter/chargers go through when charging the batteries from excess generated power. It seems to follow this pattern: * Charge 30s (inc. 3s ramp-up) * Wait 2s * Standby 6s * Check charge 2s * R...
