Re: Cost of PV installed
Clear as mud? Yes! I think most of the cost reduction I'd been expecting had already come before 2014. I think if that excel showed prices from 2004 we'd see cost/kW coming right down for the first decade and then more or less levelling off for the second. (I worked in PV back in 2002 so my startin...

Re: Cost of PV installed
Not really answers, but hopefully some info that might contribute to the bigger picture, or not. :xx: Many thanks Mart. Definitely contributes. Their quote is just over £1k/kW peak ex VAT for a 20kw system, including scaffold etc, so I can comfortably say it's fairly reasonable. For what it's worth...

Re: Cost of PV installed
I just came across this from HMGov. https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/solar-pv-cost-data As far as I can tell it's saying that installed costs have remained pretty much static at ~£2000/kW installed for small systems and ~£1500/kW installed or bigger systems since 2014. I'd thought that PV co...

Cost of PV installed
Sorry if this is asked constantly, but I couldn't find it in a search. What's a typical installed cost per kW of PV fully installed these days? Asking for a friend who's had a quote and wants to check out whether it's reasonable. They've had a quote for roof (shed) and ground mounted so if any of yo...

Cavity wall recommendations near Edinburgh
Hp installation has made it clear that our single -storey 80s extension has no cavity wall insulation. Before I get lost on Google can anyone recommend either a local contractor or a national contractor who are nice and straightforward? Also, which is the right / wrong material for it? I remember da...

Re: Samsung HP any good?
I like the simplicity of being able to plumb HP into existing circuits then upgrade rads later if need be. Sounds good to me too... Yep, this is what I was worried about but this forum and the plumber (who was a member in the other place) gave me the confidence to go for it. So far it’s working gre...

Kerosene (Heating Oil) in a tractor?
Our oil boiler died soon after we'd filled the tank. I'm very pleased to say we've now replaced it with a HP. I now have over 1000 litres of fuel oil sitting in a tank, though. We could theoretically sell it to someone who would take it in ibcs but i somehow doubt we'd get much for it that way. A fe...

Re: Samsung HP any good?
Hi folks. I thought I'd post on here in case anyone looks it up later. 14 kW Samsung (16kW for cooling I think) ASHP was installed 5-6 weeks ago now and has been running well. Better than expected, tbh, but that's because there seem to be a lot of anti-HP scare stories and press out there these days...
