Re: Solaredge and Batteries
I've had a look at the APS facility in the Solaredge inverters (the firmware version in my Solaredge inverters precedes that change) and how it can be used with the Victron units but noticed that there is a limit on the connected PV see https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ac_coupling:start . Persona...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
The PVGIS plot looks about right. 402kWh for December compares reasonably well with our figure of 195kWh for December from a smaller system. I know for sure that we have loads of days in winter when we struggle to get above about 500W all day, so using the ratio of December generation for the two s...

Thanks Nowty, I have posted up last posting.nowty wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 4:30 pm The PVGIS website, Oldgreybeard mentioned.

If you give your approximate location I can stick an image of your expected generation on here.

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
Those were my concerns and why I went for SolarEdge optimisers and 14.4kw of panels, If I can pull 2kw at any given moment through winter then I would be happy as we could run most used appliances from that. I see Viridian are a complete PV panel system (unless there are two Viridians) and not Tray...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
I see you have Perlight panels, how have you found them to work for you? Performs well, especially in summer, but we could do with more early morning generation to top the batteries back up after a night of discharging. I'm also hoping that we can get more winter generation. At the moment productio...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
We have the GSE system with 25 black panels. Installed in 2014 and still working well. If I were doing it again I'd not use GSE though, as there is a significantly better and neater system available now from Viridian . I saw a Viridian system being installed recently and it's far better thought thr...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
Welcome. This brings up the interesting question as to which, out of all the available optimising systems/devices works the best, is most reliable and is best value for money. .............. ................one of the main causes of inverter failure is ageing of the electrolytic capacitors within t...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
You mention going off grid then making the application for connection later, not sure that would be possible as assuming your inverters will be grid tied? Solaredge inverters can limit their export to the grid so you should be able to get a connection but will be limited in export to what the DNO s...

Re: Solaredge and Batteries
Welcome to the forum. I have Solaredge on a E/W orientation. I have been growing a second offgrid system over the last couple of years which is on a SSE orientation and closely matched in size to the Solaredge system. The second system wins most days for output by a couple of percent. If I did it a...

Solaredge and Batteries
My first post so hello all. I am going to go off grid and install 14.4kw of solar panels (which I have already) Because of a hill behind me I have decided for winter months to have the SolarEdge system for the optimisers and panel by panel monitoring. The system has a big company behind it and loads...
