Re: Outbuildings and why they're great. (Vanport)
Looking at post holiday works I reckon i'll be looking to get the ledger plate up and on at the gable end. I've never used resin fixed bolts before but reckon that will be the way to go? https://rawlplug.co.uk/product/r-kem-ii-with-threaded-rods-for-concrete/ that's good stuff, I've used loads of i...

Re: Pakistan’s solar revolution
I'd take any figures coming out of Pakistan with a very large pinch of salt..... (as I would a lot of other places)

Re: Nowty Towers DIY Battery Project
I have 115kwh of Nissan leaf cells, but I'm planning to have a lot more that that, I'll end up with high amp loads but still low C rates mostly worried about overnight temps dipping below zero, or extended times in winter below zero (north east England) shipping container with an A2A system might be...

Re: Nowty Towers DIY Battery Project
don't want to jump on your thread but silly to start a new one... how's the temperature where you keep your batteries ? building a workshop for mine, I'm a bit worried they cold in winter will do them no good.... before I install them it wouldn't be too big of a deal to box them in a bit to control ...

Re: ASAP / aircon?
Yes. Newer units use R290 which isn’t an F-gas so is legal to DIY (not that people haven’t been DIY-ing R32 and R410a). That's not right, it's still under F-gas (I'm f-gas registered, sat my renewal class/exam just before Christmas) not that it stops anyone working on them but... you really should ...

Re: The hidden reason behind high public charge costs
For Our public chargepoint at work the cost to purchase the unit was subsidised by Govt (the staff only one was not!) and our company sparky did the install. Our electricity is currently between 15-18p/kWh apart from 4-7pm when it’s 35p. We charge out at 24p apart from 4-7pm when it’s 50p /kWh. It’...

Re: The hidden reason behind high public charge costs
Nope..why would one settle for doing something you'd never, ever do with a petrol car? That smacks of admitting defeat, insofar as life will be more awkward with electric. Public chargers have to deliver a full charge in less than an hour by 2030, otherwise the new technology feels like one step fo...

Re: Nowty Towers DIY Battery Project
I'm thinking more about a plastic slip on cover like you can get for live bus bars in AC consumer units, I just have to find one with enough depth to cover the 20mm wide DC bus bar. https://www.screwfix.com/p/british-general-21-way-busbar-shield-370mm/1940p could 3d print something? (I'm happy to p...

Re: Pylontech US2000B
now I'm on a PC I can see better green board to the right is the BMS, those 3 connectors going into it will be the bms leads... try checking the voltages at those, see if you can find any low voltages (that's assuming they're not paralleled at a cell level) depending on that connector (it's most pro...

Re: Pylontech US2000B
Im pretty sure if the bms see's a high or low voltage cell it shuts the pack down... coukd this be your problem? One bad cell (or parallel cells) is lower capacity than the rest... so it's voltage drops quicker and the bms shuts the pack down? I googled to see if there was a guid to checking cell vo...
