Re: Panel mounting system for steel sheet roof?
The 'stitching' screws are only holding the edge of the sheet down so no great strain. The solar panels could get a lot of wind loading and I would be very nervous if they were attached to just to a single thickness of the steel sheet. Yes it does seem a lot to ask of a single skin of .7mm steel. I...

Re: Panel mounting system for steel sheet roof?
I have no personal experience. However, I've seen loads of systems designed specifically for this. They tend to be made for a particular roof system. Does yours have a name? They are Cladco 32/1000 sheets, they seem to be pretty generic and many suppliers do exact matches. https://i.postimg.cc/7C40...

Panel mounting system for steel sheet roof?
I have just built a small barn and have the roof covered with steel sheets, Cladco box profile 32/1000, now I want to add some solar panels here as it’s an ideal location. I’m just concerned with the mounting brackets causing leaks, does anyone know the best solution or is it just normal brackets wi...

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Is the hour before still taken into account for base or is it just the same time slot of previous days? Just the actual slot on the previous 10 non-SS days. There was an in day adjustment in the past but that is long gone… And to be clear a non-SS day is a non DFS called day as there are many DFS c...

Re: battery secateurs
I use these regularly, they are a fantastic tool but they scare the hell out of me, truly, far more than my 70cc chainsaw or the 9” grinder that most people consider terrifying. The only ‘safe’ version I have seen is the genuine Makita, it comes with a sensing glove but it’s around £1000 so people j...

Re: Armoured cable for DC
Here are the actual figures from the BS standard for SWA… https://i.postimg.cc/hXMDJN83/IMG-1440.jpg The maximum permitted DC volts between conductors is 1800 Vdc I’ve worked with plenty of SWA, larger stuff generally and some of the inner insulation is so thin it’s translucent but it all states to ...

Re: BEV charger questions
Highly likely you would have no problem and be very happy but it is worth considering when choosing I think. Look forward to hearing what you decide.
