Likely just EWI, or external wall insulation.
If you don't mind a potentially major change to your house appearance then it could make an enormous difference to heating requirements.

Great news FTB, I'll be putting my S75 claim in with Nationwide today or tomorrow.

Re: Ripple energy "strike off"
Thanks Joe, definitely looking like some mismanagement combined with arrogance at Ripple - a dangerous combination.

Re: Ripple energy "strike off"
Same, I refuse to use Facebook these days if at all possible, a synopsis would be great. I put £1k in, definitely money I would prefer not to lose with another mini human on the way. The lack of communication for WB has been shockingly bad, it's like watching a car crash and then realising you're on...

Re: The hidden reason behind high public charge costs
Agreed, I do not miss the queue at Costco petrol station whatsoever. I think the cost of public charging is a tricky one due to the wild variation and lack of clear pricing. I'm looking into replacing my mum's ancient automatic Fiesta with a Zoe, and amazingly even 60p charging is slightly cheaper p...

Re: how much energy is wasted driving a petrol car
Things have massively improved, but there's still some way to go.
I'd be buying an older Kia Soul for my mum next week, but living in a local authority bungalow with no drive means no home charging.
It's a harder sell when you lose the major advantage of inexpensive and convenient overnight charging.

Well, crap.
This is not looking great for Whitelaw Brae.
I have paid my monthly payments via credit card, I'm now hoping this would give me some protection, but I'm not sure...

Re: Controlling Pylontech charge rate and target SOC for Sunny Island overnight charging
This is exactly what I'm doing with my self install setup. I also have logic that calculates average house usage over the last 60 days (in 30 minutes periods). I then set a minimum SOC target (20%) and calculate how much to charge the battery using average usage and solar forecast. It works well, pr...

Re: Solar PV advice
You'd be surprised what the panels can push out. I've seen peaks of 5kW from a 4kW array, all depends on panel temps and things like cloud edge effect.
