Some sort of water cooling / heating system on the back of the panels would work well.
Harvest the heat and cool panels in the summer, flip it in the winter.
Of course, a lot more to go wrong and maintain.

Surely this recent addition calls for a full picture of the entire power station garden?

Re: Upgrading a FIT/MCS PV+ST system to PV only + battery
Depending on the hybrid inverter, you may be able to handle logging and control over modbus or the like. I have a Solis hybrid EH1 that I don't think I would recommend for a power user, but this is now controlled via a self made control stick using ESPhome. I haven't actually looked at the inverter ...

Moxi, a friend of mine is going to be selling 5 x US3000C Pylontechs later this year once I get his DIY battery stack installed.

Re: Solar PV advice
Anyone got any experience of Scottish Power in Merseyside and how stingy they are with the G99 approvals? Is there anywhere to search online to get an idea of the capacity of the network in certain areas? I've dealt with SP Energy for my approval and they were pretty helpful. I would say you should...

Re: Solar PV advice
Regarding the garage, I would be very tempted to cram as much PV on that as possible. A lot of panels are 1722mm long, 1134mm wide. You could just fit 5 panels a side, so that's a 4kWp array straight away. From what I saw on the datasheet for the Sunsynk 8.8kW unit, it has 2 MPPT inputs which would ...

Agreed, it's nothing but a pain in the arse if future demands require a bigger cable.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Thanks for documenting your journey Joe, it's been really useful for me. I've got pretty ropey UPVC windows here, relatively thin double glazing and much of it was fitted by one from the Muppet Show. I've been round foaming gaps, fitting reveal insulation, etc, but great to see what's out there if y...
