Re: Monitoring Battery Capacity
Thanks all Feel like I am going down a bit of a rabbit hole here, as ever answers come at multiple levels of complexity. Krill makes a valid point, To be clear: I've had my house stack for 9 months now and I have no cloue exactly how much they hold, but this doesn't matter to me. What matters is tha...

Monitoring Battery Capacity
A newbie question so go easy. So how do you guys (and others) measure the capacity of your batteries. I appreciate the cells lose storage over time but not sure how to measure the current storage capacity of my batteries. I have a LuxAC3600 invertor and (nominally at least) 9.6kWh of battery storage...

Re: New tariffs from 1 January
Economy 7 is indeed crap. Unfortunately it's better than any of the other available options. My EV isn't compatible with Octopus, so an EV tariff is out. Cosy is the only other available tariff here and it's more expensive than E7 and less usable. E7 rates 33.758p day, 14.99 p night rising to 35.53...

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
British Gas are running a Peak Save event today. 1630 to 1800. They are offering : The reward for this event is £5 per kWh saved. And even if you only save a little, we’ll round it up to a £1 as a little thank you for taking part As i have batteries and it looks as if exported power is excluded the...

Re: Grangemouth- Scottish PetroChem Site
The company said Grangemouth had been facing significant challenges because of global market pressures. Petroineos intends to turn the site into a fuels import terminal which would result in the loss of at least 400 jobs. That's private business/capitalism for you. If there's no money in something ...

Re: British Gas Tariff for Dimplex Quantum Storage Heaters
Forgot about that one little flaw- the EV. Sorry I never understood this, this is energy that they wouldn't ordinarily be selling, so they now make it like like they are doing EV drivers a favour when in fact its a new little market for them to scalp. I'm on an EV tariff and don't have an EV, in fa...

Re: British Gas Tariff for Dimplex Quantum Storage Heaters
Trouble is Intelligent Octopus requires a EV...so not a realistic solution for many.

British Gas Tariff for Dimplex Quantum Storage Heaters
Look like British Gas have a new E7 tariff if they can control the charge period of Quantum Storage heaters. https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy/gas-and-electricity/dimplex-quantum-tariff.html Indicative rates are 10p/Kwh off peak, 36p /Kwh on peak which is very competitive. You do need a Dimplex Hu...

Re: Weakening of key net zero policies
F**k the environment, a few more votes is what matters. Useless b'stards. This exactly  Hmm, votes = democracy. Democracy is obvously a bad thing. It seems to me that this is an alignment with what most European countries are doing or should the UK be an outlier? Going into hiding for a week ...
