Re: Musk fires entire Supercharger Team?

What's going on? I know Musk is a strange character, and of course we don't have any real information, but why would he do this? https://electrek.co/2024/04/29/tesla-conducting-more-layoffs-including-entire-supercharger-team/ He's a moron, but its like they say, even a broken clock (assuming analog...

Re: Were getting closer to the battery solution (Now completed)

A quick update. Loving the Victron gear, so glad I went for it, but my oh my is it easy to fiddle and b0rk it. Accidently update the Venos OS to 3.31, all I wanted to do was check for an update, fat finger moment and b00m, downloading and updating, no "Are you really sure" prompts. Anyways...

Re: AI helping to prevent power cuts

I always open the curtains and put every light on in the house when that happens. :pot-stir: https://i.postimg.cc/qB2NkD5H/Power_Cut_003.jpg hahaha if it happens at night I'll do that.. Maybe if I keep my Karcher close by to jetwash the car or bike during the day if there is a failure.

Re: Were getting closer to the battery solution (Now completed)

I was quite surprised to recently see small form factor panels with 10 busbar. The tech is being steadily tweaked! I remember clearly when 6 busbar was cutting edge. Great to read of your progress Tay. 8-) I liked it when you said first kWh through the door, an epic moment indeed. heh I was a littl...

Re: Were getting closer to the battery solution (Now completed)

I would guess the overall design, whether its perc with better efficiency and performance, the cell placement, I guess they are all factors, I'm sure somebody will come along and enlighten us. It may well be a case of you get what you pay for, there is no doubt the LONGi panels were cheap, I think ...

Re: AI helping to prevent power cuts

Had a power cut today and had no idea until UK Power called me up with an automated message and text to say there was a failure affecting us... I had no idea :) - well thats not quite true, I saw the briefest flicker of lights then disregarded it. Thats a test done that I was going to simulate but i...

Re: Were getting closer to the battery solution (Now completed)

Interesting to see that the panel choice makes such a difference in shade, what's the difference (apart from size and power output)? I would guess the overall design, whether its perc with better efficiency and performance, the cell placement, I guess they are all factors, I'm sure somebody will co...

Re: Hybrid Series + Parallel setup to utilise a cheaper Solar Charge controller

tks, I wasnt sure if I had read something before but clearly not.

thanks for that, the cash saved on that Solarcharger pays for the new panels, assuming I can get some.

Hybrid Series + Parallel setup to utilise a cheaper Solar Charge controller

I wouldnt have considered mixing series and parallel setups but I'm considering doing just that to keep the costs down. I recently bought a 150/35 Victron solar charge controller for my 575w panels and it works great. But now i'm thinking about my fence design, I could reuse the 435w LONGi panels fr...
