Just going to plug my little battery charger in and charge up a few flat rechargable pp3's.
Grid connected charger, as well as increased storage, so will give the DNO a quick call to advise and stay legit before throwing the switch

Re: RCBO nuisance tripping
[quote=resybaby post_id=55379 time= Ok, well in theory, if only the inverter (and any attached pv) are connected via that rcbo, then the iffy wiring is exonerated, as the fault causing the tripping must be on thet rcbo circuit, as that rcbo cannot 'see' faults on other circuits. Well that would be ...
Re: Sparrows!
Resybaby Thanks for your reply and the pictures, that is very reassuring. Do you think a triple box is at the lower end of what they prefer - or any good at all? :D I could make a roofless extension to bolt on underneath! It looks as though all of yours are "one hole one nest" versions, s...

Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
Have wind deflectors on my Transporter, leaving the windows down a tad overnight makes a huge difference to moisture on the windscreen first thing in the morning. Well worth the few quid they cost

Re: Sparrows!
That's a really good idea - I'll try and get some made and installed. I bought a triple sparrow box many years ago, and fitted it to the highest part of the gable of the shed, but never had any birds in it. I wonder if they need more height than a shed. We have quite a lot around here - they love c...
Re: Sparrows!
Good to know. Couple of questions:- What is the different coloured shape around the holes on some of your boxes? And is it important? They are just some flat stones from my local beach, asthetic only, although in squirell prone areas some sort of guard around the hole is useful to prevent then eati...

Re: RCBO nuisance tripping
Thanks for the reply Marcus. Its a Sunsynk ecco hydrid with batteries and ac coupled, so yes all current via the rdbo. The iffy wiring is just a cheap waterproof external socket kit from Screwfix bolted to the rear of the house and fed via fused spur from the house sockets ring main. The shed/pond/t...
Re: Sparrows!
A bit of a passion (weakness maybe) of mine. We have gazillions of Sparrows around here, so during Covid while shielding at home i made up loads of birdboxes for neighbours. I too discovered that sparrows prefer terraces of boxes and let my 8magination run amok with (barmy) designs, some with consid...
