Looking at the heat output compared to the input at less than 5C requires a second look

Re: ASHP & triple glazing

Cheeky few pints equired in the future.
The littlun scrapped off the electrical project and went for a bottle rocket combo made from vinegar and baking soda :pot-stir:

Enjoy the staves. I won't go back to logs after using these this year. :)

Re: ASHP & triple glazing

Hey Joe, I don't suppose you did any external photos of the windows with the FLIR before the 3G goes in?

It would be interesting to see the colour difference of old v new windows from the outside

Re: December generation 2024

December 2024 production post solar panels swap and replacing single string inverter into a dual MPPT one. 25 kW. Januarys production will be poor as well due to being covered in snow and ice for roughly 10 days. https://i.postimg.cc/vDmkt5xH/IMG-20250111-143522-648.jpg December 2023 produced a big ...

The wrong side of Aberdeen for most folk.

I will keep a stash. If heading this way, feel free to let me know.
Joe, I will ping you a message soon. I will see how much is currently in stock. It's usually a few barrels worth.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing

For reasons mentioned earlier I personally wouldn't recommend Vermiculite as it is hygroscopic. I used to use it for retaining moisture when incubating reptile eggs, it's also sterile for this. If you should happen to want more of it.... I cannot get rid of the stuff quick enough. We use it for tran...

Re: Is A2A to be included in the BUS grant spring 2025 ?

Hey Mart, That is a surprise given your concise replies in the forum.  We had a very cold night last night and the resistive heating was on through the vanilla slot to offset some gas use which it did nicely. How does people with A2A systems fair in the sub zero days - I appreciate t...

Re: Copper-based solar panels?

Sorry - meant to say the reference of dvd 9 is because they use dual layers. One layer is silver sputtered onto a polycarbonate disc and the other layer is aluminium sputtered to a polycarbonate disc. The silver layer is translucent and the aluminium layer is not. The two layers are then bonded toge...

Re: Copper-based solar panels?

I don't understand it. https://www.silverinstitute.org/silver-solar-technology-2/ says Silver’s use in photovoltaics Photovoltaic (PV) power is the leading current source of green electricity. Higher than expected photovoltaic capacity additions and faster adoption of new-generation solar cells rai...
