Re: Nowty Towers Vs UK Grid Storage

Ouch :SOS: , I was doing some angle grinding in improving my gardens drainage but accidently ground partly though one of my SWA's. Luckily its hardly grazed the first layer of insulator after the metal strands. :xx: It will be immersed in water in when its wet :? , but I'm hoping plenty o...

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation

Update time, Loads of upgrades, including one member plastering over 100 x big mother PV panels on a warehouse :D which has taken PV generation comfortably over 1GW, plus a couple of more members within the membership of the secret list. We have “associate members” on the secret list. These are fam...

Re: Spring has sprung?

(nowtyrecord) We are now down to the dregs of generation but the scores on the doors are over 100 kWh and a new Nowty Towers generation record. Over 76 kWh on the grid ties and over 24 kWh on the charge controllers. I would have got the Dalmatian record but I pushed the export to...

Re: Solar record?

The Sheffield site which NESO seem to use for the official records has it a little under the current record. But sometimes they retrospectively get updated as the PV installations data lags. https://www.solar.sheffield.ac.uk/pvlive/ Its probably the best yielding day which is more important than pea...

Re: Spring has sprung?

What a day here at Nowty Towers, I am almost certain a generating PB will be made today as the cloud looks like staying away.

78kWh so far, just 12 kWh more to match my generating PB with 9.5kW still coming in. :xx:

Re: Spring has sprung?

Some late afternoon cloud came along to spoil it, just about equalling my generation PB at 90 kWh.

Friday now looks like busting it. :xx:

Re: Nowty Towers DIY Battery Project

Is the battery cave the basement or crawl space? Or is it a secret?! Crawl space only, its hard work especially when I had to remove my 9 x Plylotechs to sell, but its a very efficient use of space. In comparison building up the new Fogstar battery banks was easier as each cell is only 1.5kg vs a P...

Re: Spring has sprung?

There are some perfect days for everyone over the next week.

After my latest 2 panel upgrade, I'm expecting a new generating PB tomorrow, my current PB is 90 kWh from 20th June 2024. :xx:

Today we had some cloud for a time but still made 88 kWh.

Re: How to Fogstar battery?

You either buy a full well know BMS and it can be set to pretend to be a Pylontech battery or similar. Or like me you run with a simple cell balancer and set the ME3000SP to lead acid (note, you have to plug in a temp sensor or spoof it with a fixed resistor). My ME3000SP battery settings for a 16 L...
