Re: Small things matter

Locally sourced rough sawn Scots pine timbers are on standby in a separate wee bit. So guys, question. Cladding? Spruce Pine Larch... Which one for cladding & why, any input much appreciated. 🤔 👏 Does it need cladding? That will further reduce the light in the rooms behind it. Pretend it's like...

Re: Small things matter

If you need any materials for the repair of the window there is Jennifer Jane stained glass studio in Hatton of Fintray. Thanks Ian, good to know. I didn't get the battens yesterday but hopefully on for some 1 year air dried local 8"x2"'s Scots pine which I'll rip down on the tablesaw. I ...

Re: Small things matter

Looking good so far, can't wait to see the finished article especially with the stained glass window. :xl: SWMBO.& No1 had a slight hiccup bringing the stained glass window into the house. No.glass broken but frame (which is fully lead) took a hit. 18 panes missing but apparently they are in a ...

Re: Small things matter

Joe, you could make the side brackets right angle bend just clear the top of the gutter and have another right angle bend pointing upwards and screw it to the wooden rail thereby allowing you to adjust the runoff angle of the panels. No 3m lengths of 3 or 4 x2 here I'm afraid. Thanks for the inspir...

Re: Small things matter

Are you going to put some sealant between the panel edges and bolt them together to stop any water getting between the panels? Yep, I've bought some T shaped rubber seal. The dearest part so far is keeping it all in stainless steel. I'll order some s/s machine screws and nuts once I've seen the pan...

Re: Small things matter

We've got a back corner sitting in place! Tomorrow I'll mess about with a 35mm thick small mockup of a panel edge and see if I can cheat some drop for the panels. Any drop I gain it will still be sub 1 deg fall. Sitting at about 0.5deg the noo. :hysteria: SWMBO is getting excited, many sm...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

I noticed last night that i was not getting above 96% SOC while we still had a little over 1kW PV incoming. I surmised that there was a lag between Pylontech data displayed and the charge state of the new third and furthest battery stack. Had a look this morning at last nights data and we can clearl...
