Re: Pumped hydro

I don’t see that we are at the point of having excess renewable energy that we can’t use, even at night. I would advocate switching off fossil fuel power in preference to storing renewable energy. Re: Pumped hydro

I don’t like using energy that has already been generated and storing it in any store. You loose. It is less than 100% efficient so with energy storage we will use more energy than without it

One of my hobbies is energy use reduction a seriously underrated sport

WEEE

This is a brilliant initiative in HK. I like reducing better than reusing and recycling is the last resort. They do massively reduce waste by seperating valuable resources and effectively ‘mining’ useful materials. Weee need them!

Re: Mr Bates

It is remarkable to know where it went! We also know where it came from. In my simplistic way of looking at it the accounts should be able to figure out what was going on —- YEARS AGO

Re: Improving our existing housing stock

I would be thinking DraughtProofing, insulation, elimination of in house winter cooling systems (dot and dab, soil pipe boxes, party wall cavities, insufficient loft insulation, un insulated thermal bridging from gable walls and chimneys, uninsulated floors etc) Doing things on a task by task basis ...
