Thanks for the replies. Perhaps I didn't explain myself fully. Quite often the vehicle concerned is no where near a mains connection when the problem arises, and what I would use the 48v battery for is to fast charge the vehicle over a period, say 20 mins.

Bought a s/h ebike last September and thought I might need an extra range extender battery for it, but was wrong. The bike's range is phenominal as is. So I am wondering if I could use the 48v spare battery for a vehicle jump starter with a suitable current limiting device? Is there such a thing ava...
