Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?

Thanks JB, I dropped everything I was doing (working out the static and dynamic head losses when pumping 50 million litres per day up a 125 meter incline over a 4,500m distance and then trying to find a set of pumps that needs less than 1.17Mw absorbed shaft power) to go and take a look - simple ye...

Re: Fastest charge inverters

It was fitted under the last eco grant round for the previous owner, using somewhat local cowboy electricians and plumbers. The electrician they used has now gone out of business. The plumbers, sadly for anyone else installed by them are still operating. 2x 12 kw seems very excessive, unless you li...

Re: Fastest charge inverters

Why not just get a larger Multiplus like the 48/5000 as that will output 4000W from the batteries when required. In the context of the quote from Victron re parallel, I take it to mean running in parallel with the grid although you are right that in if you are connecting up more than one Multiplus t...

Re: Fastest charge inverters

Right. I think, i have arrived at a solution, but would like some confirmation on if my thinking is correct. I would like to keep the whole ecosystem the same. We have used victron 12v solar controllers for many years (decades) on our boat and it has served us very well. Bomb proof, though we have ...

Re: Small things matter

🤦‍♂️ didn’t think of eBay, I was looking at main web sites and builders and they all seemed stupidly expensive. Tyres won’t work on this occasion as the finished items will be in very public view. I’m off to look at eBay- haven’t been on that site for a lifetime. Weather looks really promising for ...

Re: Small things matter

Nice one, good weather for the HP too. Yes, pity it's July and we need to put heat into the house! WBS is back on at 16.00hrs! A couple of good wooden guttering torrent tests on the bootroom this afternoon. Also heard the auto fans kicking in and out earlier during a 6kW generation window. h...

Re: Small things matter

If you do succumb to a smart meter and say go to Octopus (I know someone with a code if you need one  ) then you should switch as much of your load to the cheaper rate and any excess during the day exported for a higher rate would help to balance out the bills over the year using the VB ana...
