Charging must be like going to a petrol station, you fill up and pay. All this mucking about with apps and accounts and finding the correct cable/charger etc etc is putting a lot of people off taking the plunge.

Re: Lobbying for heat only air conditioning to receive public support

Our ASHP certainly mixes the air in the room and can be directed as needed, we don't find a "pool" of hot air floating around the ceiling. I very much doubt we will find a politician willing to admit they got it wrong and actively support a subsidy for these machines. Trashing the planet i...

I am going up there tomorrow to sort a few things so will get a list and some piccys of what needs to go. As per usual at Cactusville a bottle of red will secu...

Re: Installation of PV on Corrugated Asbestos Roof ??

The spray foam does complicate the issue quite a lot, it will be a struggle to dismantle the roof without doing considerable damage to the sheets which increases the risk considerably. I concur with Beeman, get some quotes for the work before you buy. If you feel unsure about the outcome personally ...

4.9kWp,

91kWh, which is not too shabby considering half the system went live on the fifth, and half on the 25th :D

Re: Installation of PV on Corrugated Asbestos Roof ??

Asbestos cement boards are a relatively small risk but still more than I would want to take long term. Personally I would get rid of it and then you can do what you like safely. We use a firm that will collect a standard garage size roof for about 450 quid. We dismantle and double bag, they collect ...

Re: Shedhenge

Hi AGT, I've got some Cromar cold lay adhesive but there are loads on the market, whatever your nearest roofing shop or builders merchant has in stock will do. Something like this for example:- https://www.roofingsuperstore.co.uk/product/everbuild-904-black-jack-roof-felt-adhesive-5l.html Be warned ...

Re: Shedhenge

I fixed our panels down to the flat roof using frames made from 47*/47mm treated timber screwed down to the flat roof. I used 2 bits of timber about 20cm long each, stuck them down with a good blob of cold fix roofing felt adhesive and wound 2 stainless screw straight through the roofing felt/deckin...

Re: Shedhenge

Thanks Marshman, we do indeed have a Solis RHI 5G inverter, that's the document I need. I didn't dig deep enough into the certification online.

The manual and specifications within don't seem to mention this.

I owe you a beer or three :D
