Re: DC disconnects/isolators.
Hi, yes thanks i understand that, whatni wanted to know is if the rating was across every contact or spilt between them.
Electrician just responded that it would apply for each contact so a 20A 4 pole switch would have 20A per pole dependant on voltage.
I was overthinking things.

Re: DC disconnects/isolators.
However you have to watch as that can’t be used as an on load isolator… Yes duely noted thanks. The Niceic link went over alot of what i already understood, but also did not specify if a 4 pole switch splits the main rating or is for both strings equally. I presume if they dont say it is split, it ...

Thanks for this.jonc_uk wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 1:43 pm With a tight space, I would use a pair of these (one for neg, one for pos) for each string. Could just mount a piece of DIN rail, or use an enclosure.

Re: Agreement on shipping emissions
I read the other day that the US has warned anyone against putting fines or restrictions on its ships for this. Be an interesting one to watch for sure. It does tickle me a bit though to know the world was explored, mapped and conquered by sail. The industrial and oil revolutions were supposed to ta...

DC disconnects/isolators.
Hi Gents. We have some upcoming projects this summer to extend our solar capability. The larger arrays will go through the sunsynk mppts just fine, But we are planning 2 strings, which would not hit the start up voltage and even if could, would be woefully inefficient if run through the sunsynk. As ...

Re: Battery Shed.
This makes its 57kw. Could maybe fit another box in the shed and keep things neat with batteries on one side and inverters on the other, but would struggle to charge 71kw. 57kw will take care of our very coldest days in winter, and still be chargeable overnight cheapslot with 2 chargers and 2 invert...

Re: Ripple energy "strike off"
Well its all speculation, but from what i see of the messages Ripple made to investors (see page 10) it seems the publicity was needed, as was lobbying the government. Its clear they took on more than they could chew with WB. If they'd have kept ticking along with smaller sites like GF, then this mo...

Re: Ripple energy "strike off"
but the specific arrangement for renumeration via energy bills is made via ripples management contracts. So they would either have to find someone to negotiate a similar deal, with each provider, or decide to go with 1st which offer a seamless transition with minimal disruption. Would the contract ...
