Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?

On the Ripple dashboard, August is still showing as estimated for the whole month. July is now showing as confirmed and has changed from Monday.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?

Both GF and KH's corporate structure is to have a cooperative holding company and an operating company below the holding company. It is my understanding that the commercial partners investment in the wind farms is via the operating company, at least for KH. Neither GF nor KH cooperatives have filed ...

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours

One needs a friend next door who is on Octopus export. I import, they export -nice money go around. I expect some could do this within their own property, say a granny annex with seperate meter. 50kwh/hr = £7.5/hr export. And then there will be Agile negative days ! Average of 1hr per day = £2737/y...

Re: Standing Charge abolition. Why is it so difficult?

It will be interesting to see the proposals on standing charges. In my humble opinion, there is a good case for linking the standing charge for electricity to the fuse size. Ie if you want a 100 amp fuse, you pay a bigger standing charge then if you can get by with a 60 amp fuse. Better still, adapt...

Re: BEVs to now pay road tax, and it's back-datable

I have a cunning plan to SORN my EV on 28 February and to re-licence it on 1 March to postpone things for 11 months.
Had intended to do it this year in March, but found that did not work as the new period would begin in March too.

Re: Planning submitted for new pumped hydro scheme

Loch Ness is around 16m above sea level.

Its normal range is about 0.9m and in extremis a bit over 3m although I doubt it would approach the upper or lower limits other than exceptionally. Not least because it would restrict navigation

Nearly always a 1600rpm spin for me. Either 30 or 40 with the occasional 60.

Re: Building an EV more efficient than walking

I stand corrected. I can now see that it is not illegal if you register and tax it as a moped/motorbike.

Having been hit by a cyclist at a pedestrian crossing, I am fully aware of the additional risk of injury to pedestrians with the extra weight of a bike in your configuration.
