Re: Please help me with battery options and business case
when the ASHP has failed in the past it’s taken a couple of weeks for us to actually notice. The heat pump is on a little-and-often cycle, so there is consumption at peak periods. This seems contradictory. My understanding is that heat pumps don't like a lot of cycling on and off. Can you try incre...

Re: FiT deemed vs export …
I started the move to deemed export in October and am still not there. Octopus slipped up somewhere along the line. Having got an MPAN number, they “forgot” to register themselves as the supplier. They are do nothing to expedite the next stages other than telling me the usual timescale is about thre...

Re: Good article on the Octopus V2G tariff
Article suggests that V2G will (soon) be available for CCS chargers rather than just Chadomo as at present.
Hard to know if V2G will be available for existing CCS cars via a software update or only for new models.
Probably going to need a new EV charger too.
Lots of unanswered questions.

Re: How one German village exemplifies the cancer risk from wood burning
Interesting but I found the statement: "There is clearly an urgent need for better data, and for actions to reduce exposure to wood and coal pollution in rural communities across Europe" to be a bit tunnel visioned - the pollution from coal and wood burners appeared to make the air qualit...

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Looks like GF has not generated since 3 am yesterday.
Let's hope it is just a comms issue and not anything more serious and that someone at Ripple has noticed that there is an issue rather than it being unmonitored all weekend.

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
I now have 2 * Pylontech 5000 battery storage. Still waiting for Octopus to put me on Octopus outgoing. Apparently they weren't aware that the DNO had issued a MPAN and now they say that they have update the meter details on the database notwithstanding that they had all relevant information last Oc...

Re: 3 Phase - various questions
Whilst it would be nice to think that there should be net metering across the phases of a 3 phase meter, I don't think that is how it works in practice, nor should it. We reluctantly accept that there is a cost of providing a grid supply and we cannot expect to pay nowt if import = export, although ...

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Hoping to get into Ripple project 4, reservation is in. MY consumption of energy the last few months was around 1200kw/month ! I need my other panels up and producing. If your estimated annual usage is more than 7,000k Whs, Ripple will, at some stage, want to see proof. Ideally an estimate ...

Interestingly, Ripple are still showing me earning 27p per kWh.
