Re: The Camelot Cafe/Bar
Is it too early for a Guinness? No! Three so! Like everything pros, get on with it, DIY’s ponder about it, tidy up frequently don’t mix enough etc etc stop for a cup of tea admire the work, pros want paid and onto the next job. What do experts do? I've knocked a month (March) off my lecky import. Ph...

Re: Battery-inverter cables upgrade
H07RN's great cable and quite often more authentic. Better mechanical resilience, higher heat capacity, much higher voltage rating, as flexible. Hard to find in red. Arguably welding cable is for welding and hence rated for surge loads not continuous duty..most people use it because it's cheap and f...

Re: Battery-inverter cables upgrade
The gauge being down is one thing but so is the price hence my acceptance of the back-hander. Sure it's dishonest but it's effin' hard to get honest cable or any at all in a red jacket over 50mm², if the price per gram of copper is fair then ignore the numbers and oversize the oversize is my logic. ...

Re: End to end lead acid battereies?
I suppose if you EQ them and they all have identical specific gravities and water consumption there's nothing to fix.

Re: Battery-inverter cables upgrade
Interesting. Did you try weighing the cable? I weighed it. Load tested it. Melted it at 67% "rated" continuous although that was mostly conducted heat from a fuse. Calculated the diameter of the strands x number of them. Compared it's gauge to genuine cable. Full load voltage drop tested ...

Re: Battery-inverter cables upgrade
If its of use to anyone. I have bought a couple of times from an ebay seller 'split charge' being their shop name. Good quality cables, many sizes. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201702388802 Hohoho..that's where I got the dodgey underspec cable I mentioned earlier. In fairness they're a distributor no...
