Conversion of classic car to EV
I know that there are companies that will convert old classic cars to EV's by taking out the engine and fitting a EV motor and gubbins for you. I have a plan to buy an old Ford Mustang, and get it converted. In terms of environmentalness, would it be better to get a working old car, and run it until...

Re: Garden birds and insects
I think he did - he's in Forest Hill, and they do have other swifts nearby.
I'm in Norwich, and have heard them a lot recently, but don't know if they nest nearby.
I did hear that they can fly long distances for food, such that the ones over Norwich might be nesting many miles away (even London?!)

Re: Garden birds and insects
my brother has put up swift boxes, he's in south east London, but apparently they don't nest where there aren't any other swifts, so he had to have a speaker set up to play the sound of swifts, so that other swifts thought there were some nesting nearby to get them to use the box.

Re: Passive stack chimney ventilation
our house is a 3 floor 1900 ish mid terrace, in a conservation area. single room external vents wouldn't work on the front rooms, but might on the bathroom and kitchen which are in the back of the house, where there is an extension, so external walls on the side of the house. Are there companies tha...

Passive stack chimney ventilation
Does anyone have any knowledge or expertise, or advice on fitting passive stack ventilation in chimneys? I previously found a company, I think they were called Ventive, and they did a thing where they put a heat recovery unit on top of a chimney, and fed two pipes down the chimney, one with incoming...

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
we have dormer windows that are currently wooden 2g units, and they're going to be replaced soon. Is it worth getting 3g units? we don't have ashp, and we don't have heat recovery ventilation, and the insulation could be better, but 3g will be the standard at some point right?! it is south facing, a...
