Re: Cider
In our village we have a cider syndicate... between the seven of us last autumn we pressed enough apple's to produce 155 gallons. We normally add enough sugar to produce 8% alcohol in the final product. We use my wife's garden shredder to shred the apple's, and obviously our solar panels supply the ...

Re: Solis hybrid battery and Zappi
Thanks Niko, I'll give that a try. We also have a Henley block just before our consumer unit so should be fairly easy.

Re: Solis hybrid battery and Zappi
Not sure if this is helpful, but we moved the zappi upstream of the battery (Powerwall in our case) so its now never seen as a house load. Moved the CT too. Prevents drain when Intelligent Octopus stick in some cheap slots outside of the normal 23:30 to 05:30 times. Hi Niko. I also have got a Power...

This should get you to the Kirk Hill site Joe. 55°18'43"N 4°44'19W It's an extremely narrow lane, when I visited last April I only saw one other vehicle and that was a farmer in a Land Rover. I think the shape of the trees tell the story. https://i.postimg.cc/qgxmxPJx/20220403-142707.jpg https:...

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Apparently I'm sad, so SHMBO keeps reminding me. I have been working up in Bonny Scotland just south of Glasgow. Finished work at midday so I thought I'll go and try and find Kirk Hill. https://i.postimg.cc/N9yXzvX1/20220403-142635.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/3yfp1xk8/20220403-142711.jpg https://i.post...

Re: Part ownership of a Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Nowty, are you still adding to the secret WT2 list? Today I purchased another 640 watt's to add to our 1500 watt's from WT1. This should give us a total of 6000 kWh although we only use around 4000kWh/yr and we only import 800 kWh from the grid. Solar and battery supply the rest. Last year our solar...

Re: Part ownership of a Wind Turbine, fancy it?
I got this reply back from Ripple this afternoon. Tom Carr (Ripple Energy) 15 Feb 2022, 15:04 GMT Hi Malcolm, Thanks for your message. The wholesale price at which your energy is exported is fixed and then reviewed annually - for both projects. This has not yet been fixed in for the next project, bu...

Re: Part ownership of a Wind Turbine, fancy it?
I will let you know Ripples reply when they get back to me. It's not all about the money, it's about Ripple being upfront and honest which I think (hope) they are but when I've convinced two very good friends to sign up to WT2, one buying 6000kWh and the other 5000kWh. Also this evening I was going ...
