Re: What tariff?

My overall impression has been fairly good. The smart meter was fitted promptly with little fuss. If that's all you need then I should go ahead. Octopus seem to have been overstretching themselves. They are not so good at slightly out of the ordinary things like export. Export doesn't seem to be on ...

Re: What tariff?

I have been trying since June to get Octopus to fit a smart meter and since the beginning of September to get an Export MPAN out of National Grid. It took me from the beginning of April till end of September. Holdup turned out to be that although they got an MPAN issued, they forgot to tell the DNO...

Re: Navi*ron Archive

It is working a lot faster now than when I tried it first. The only issue I see is that some special characters like a quote mark appear as ' as an example. Nevertheless a sterling effort! Congratulations to Jack.

Re: Electric trip to Barcelona

Wikipedia says: In GPS technology, the term "CoCom Limits" also refers to a limit placed on GPS receivers that limits functionality when the device calculates that it is moving faster than 1,000 knots (510 m/s) and/or at an altitude higher than 18,000 m (59,000 ft). 510m/s = 510 * 3600 /10...

This is quite true, but I calculate that the speed in question is 1836km/h, so it must be some other issue.

Re: Do not get a Smart Meter fitted.

So I make the OP's measurement error to be about 4mA. The meter needs to be able to measure at least 100A. So the error in calibration is about 0.004%. To be honest this is a extremely accurate meter which I would be proud to have developed. I assumed that the OP was tongue in cheek.

Transferring solar export to Octopus

We have had a FIT contract with SSE since just before the first rate reduction, and this includes deemed 50% export. We just transferred our supplier to Octopus and last week had them fit a smart meter. Apparently we can now transfer the export part of the contract to Octopus and get paid for actual...

Re: Miraculous Wind Power Development

Oh, please understand that I was not taken in; I've been on this and the previous forum too long for that; and my post title was ironic. I just somehow missed the previous posts.
BTW There's a good guy on Youtube called thunderfoot who spends a lot of time exposing scams like this.

Ah, my mistake. I thought I monitored all new posts here. It seems that getting investment money to do useless 'research' is all the rage these days
