Re: UK Wind Record

The next big offshore wind farm due to be completed is Triton Knoll - they've hit the half-way mark of installing the turbines on June 8th (45 of the 90x 9.5MW machines) with it all due to be finished Q1 2022. So I guess at least another 400MW of wind to be added in the next 6 months

British Gas FiT problems

I have my FiT with British Gas, and recently fell foul of their poorly executed attempt to change their back-end and allow for payment via BACS rather than Cheque. After various failed attempts to submit my readings on their portal (due to the install number having changed), and complaints via email...

In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable.
Between our quests we sequin vests and impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot.
I have to push the pram a lot.

Re: HVDC Interconnectors

Norway's electricity grid is at least 98% renewable, almost all of which comes from hydro

Re: Grid sites.

This one's quite nice - shows the Co2 intensities of most European grids in real time

Not a grid-monitoring site per se, but on Twitter, the account @enappsys gives some very useful information on grid market action quite often

HVDC Interconnectors

My obsession with HVDC interconnectors continues unabated! In the news today is that the North Sea Link between the UK and Norway will start testing powerflows through the 720km, 1.4GW interconnection this week, with commissioning due to be complete by October. I will at some point update my spreads...

Re: Hello to the new forum!

Ooh hello, what's this place then?!

I did think of creating a new username, but then thought noone would recognize me from "that other place".

Good to have an outlet for my renewables musings again.
