Flattening the duck curve with batteries

Found this on LinkedIn. Batteries are re-shaping the solar duck curve, soaking up solar during the day and discharging it when it's needed in the evening. The grid that originally coined the term "duck curve" is showing how to fix it. Just install more batteries! https://i.postimg.cc/yDFjM...

Re: No Coal but Oil ??

The usual answer here is "they need to burn down their remaining coal stockpile before it closes completely later this year" but I agree it does seem odd - perhaps they needed the inertia in that part of the Grid?

Northern Lights

Re: "Behind the Grid" series

Watched it - still a bit dumbed down for my liking, but was interesting that it was all about HDVC interconnectors! Although they missed out a couple - I'm more up to date than National Grid it would seem!

Re: BYD Dolphin

Not got one, but have started to see quite a few BYDs on the roads in the last month or so. "Behind the Grid" series

National Grid has just launched a new YouTube series called "Behind The Grid".
Looks like it could be a really proper geeky deep dive into how it all works. First episode is 27mins long, I shall look forward to watching this later today!
