Re: One bed semi detached bungalow for sale Aberdeenshire.
Is it really a garage? Looks more like a garden shed (comparing to dimensions provided for rooms). Too far from Drumnadrochit for me.

Re: Hinkley Grid Connection
There was a ‘bottle-neck’ in the connection of the SW to the rest of the UK grid. Has this been overcome, or is this likely to still be a problem at times?

Re: Immersun Noisy Fan
My first question would be whether bearing was changeable. Chinese bearings/lubrication is not the best. Also use a proper machine oil, not 3-in-one , as that leaves a sticky residue over time.

Re: 14s BMS recommendation
Thanks. At last I’ve got something to get me started. It is for a 14S (as far as I have thought, at this stage) for a ~2kWh set of pouch cells. I’m expecting (hoping) to charge from solar, then use via an off-grid inverter for the discharge side. There may/will be up to 6 or 7 of these in parallel -...

Especially when you consider they might well have a cheap night rate for their energy purchases, before selling on at those fixed, extortionate price. But remember VAT at 20%.

Re: Insulating Timber Garage
Depends what the shed is used for to at least some extent. Dimensions may be useful, too. I constructed my workshop inside a sectional concrete garage. It houses machine tools, is about 30 cubic meters and very cool in the summer/ warm (and dry) in the cooler months. It is draught-free and insulated...

Re: Germany on target for carbon reductions
Question: How are imports, via connectors, rated for carbon footprint?
Imports are much higher these days - and exports should be classed as fossil generation.

Re: Smets 2 offset in full force
Mine records power is bring used even when the msins is switched off. Not a lot, but adds up over the year, possibly effectively increasing the standing charge.
Sh*t Shell not interested in their carp meter installations. I wonder if Octopus will be any different on this ‘minor’ matter.

Re: Replacement gas fired power stations
Not sure about that. Neither am I, so I will (currently) accept that some gas stations need replacing for energy security. My most local gas fired power station is not a combined cycle unit, so gets relatively little use. I don’t know how much and how many more similar stations are dotted around. B...
