There was a ‘bottle-neck’ in the connection of the SW to the rest of the UK grid. Has this been overcome, or is this likely to still be a problem at times?

My first question would be whether bearing was changeable. Chinese bearings/lubrication is not the best. Also use a proper machine oil, not 3-in-one , as that leaves a sticky residue over time.

Imports are much higher these days - and exports should be classed as fossil generation.

Not sure about that. Neither am I, so I will (currently) accept that some gas stations need replacing for energy security.
