Re: Octopus power ups Northern Scotland

Octopus have been running "Power Up's" in the South East UKPowerNetworks area since last December - We had 4 over Christmas and New Year and a total of around 20 so far - each one lasting 2 to 2 1/2 hours. No rhyme nor reason to the timing - for example on 3rd March we have had a "Pow...

Re: App for Smart Meter

Apply for an Octopus Mini. Gives you live updates via the Octopus App on your phone. Updates every 5 mins, also displays last day, week, month and year use in £'s or kWh's Octopus mini needs to be in wireless range of the smartmeter AND connect to your in house WiFi/Internet. But it does work well a...

Re: Is G99 approval time sensitive?

Unless the process has changed in the last 12 months there are TWO deadlines. 1. You have 3 months (90 days) to accept the "offer". Basically accept, sign and return the form - can be done by email. This just says you agree to the "offer"/ conditions and will go ahead with the in...

Re: Solax sk-su3000e - Pylontech us2000c Battery BMS and CT Clamps - start again

Think you are on a hiding to nothing trying to get the Solax inverter to communicate with the Pylontech batteries. There are numerous pleas for help on t'interweb on other forums and there is a long thread on this forum - none have a conclusion. This is the thread on this forum: (worth a read as at ...

Re: Solax sk-su3000e - Pylontech us2000c Battery BMS and CT Clamps - start again

As kommando says, seems like the BMS link is not working. Ideally this should use the CAN bus . Most common reason - assuming you have the correct battery selected on the inverter, is the cable is wrong. CAN bus only uses 2 wires - similar to RS485 - They need to be a "twisted pair". As fa...

Re: Solis Hybrid Inverter No Battery alarm

Yes, setting the charge current on the time of use page only sets the charge current for those times you want it to charge. Force charging has its own setting for SOC to start and max grid power (i.e. charge current). I think you have been lucky the fuse survived this long. It probably has not gone ...

Re: Solis Hybrid Inverter No Battery alarm

The fuse carries current both ways, charge and discharge. 50A is too small for a 3.6kW inverter. If the inverter is supplying a house load at its full capacity - 3.6kW then it will be drawing 70A from the battery and through the fuse, 1.5 times its rated current. The fuse will survive quite a long t...

Re: Monitoring Battery Capacity

151Ah @ a nominal 50V = 7550Wh or 7.55kWh

Only real way is to "coulomb count" or fully charge and then measure how much energy you can extract when discharging form full charge to your lower limit.
