Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

What is the price of 16x LF280k cells these days? (Delivered with all taxes and fees paid).

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov

I hadn’t removed the settings from my inverter to charge the battery ahead of the SS and discharge it during the SS so didn’t have to do anything (except turn everything off at the required time. Been doing zero rinsing of late so my baseload has slipped to less than a kWh which is annoying.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov

Hmmmmm, another half hour test 6pm to 6:30pm with a volume of 50MW which is less volume that Octopus has. :? So its a race to the bottom. Guessing their seeing how low they can get their bids and also don't need to rely on Octopus with this one if they bid too high, plenty of fish in the sea.... Th...

Re: ToU tarrifs. Octopus EV is only 7.5p kWh. I know it's an outlier, and far and away better than anything else available currently, but with increased renewables, surely ToU is expected to become more, not less, common? Octopus IOG is by far the best ToU tariff available. In fact, it is silly goo...

Re: Small things matter

Have a look at Shelly devices. Thanks, I have now looked at their website and can see switches that can be switched by an app and thence wifi but I want to switch a contactor with 2kW load remotely once a set of contacts closes some few metres away. It probably makes more sense to just run a bell w...

Re: Big battery for leccy and hot water. A2A for space heating.

Apologies to start a thread which is a variation of a prior post, but would greatly appreciate if you guys could sense check. I'm wondering about the following: - Install 60kWh home battery (as large as I realistically can find space for) - Get 12kW inverter - Use this to provide for all of my elec...
