Re: Pylontech battery DIP switch settings

I wonder if I can ask the nature of the DIP switches on the Pylontech's please, over time I have read in different places that they are: a) subsidiary to the main comms and do not need to be used b) have a specific setting to identify the mater battery only c) each battery has its own setting for i...

Re: ASHP - Investigations and calculations

OK, so I've had the new heat loss survey and received the quotation from Greenhome. They use the Heatgeek methods, and most different from Octopus, they assume much lower air exchange rates for the rooms - to the point where their total heat loss comes in at 9.4kW, against my self calc at 12.5kW an...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

Ok, I'll try having reconfiguring the fans to an IN and an OUT and check out the difference. Will have to wait for a month or so as it's quite busy right now. Will keep you updated. I do need to get the thermal camera on the inside of the isolator to see what's up. That's the only bit I haven't che...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery

Is that one of those business to business transactions ? Well, sort of :hysteria: £50 "installation" charge applied - not a bad deal for an "installer" to travel (cough) all the way from Coventry to Cornwall to "fit" them me thinks. Oddly its refundsble as we...

Re: Hi...New guy from Preston, lancs

Hi Kenny! If you want “cheap overnight power” then Intelligent Octopus Go is the best tariff at 7.5p/kWh. You can even be on Outgoing Octopus at the same time where they’ll buy electric from you at 15p/kWh. Loads of people on here have experience building home battery packs with LF280k cells so you’...

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov

There should be 3 test sessions left, nominally one remaining this month and 2 in March. Contractually there are 12 test sessions and as many live sessions as needed. With 6 test sessions in Nov to Dec and the remaining 6 in Jan to Mar. We had 6 test and 2 live sessions in Nov to Dec. Only 1 test s...

Re: Hello from another Lancastrian!

Hello to everyone! I've finally signed up having lurked around for a while. As a complete novice I'm looking for help and guidance from the good people of the forum. We have planning permission to cover our garage roof in PV panels and to fit some to the rear wall of our house as well (it's a conse...

Re: New ground array

Ah, already ordered 70m of the solar cable, so twin wall conduit it is! Anything in particular or any twin wall that google comes back with? Here's a rough sketch of the initial timber frame plan. I thought about scaff and uni-strut, but the timber just works out way cheaper from what I could see. ...

Re: New ground array

3 tons of concrete! Was hoping to not get involved in digging big holes and mixing concrete. A concrete block is 18kg or so, 3 of those under each triangular support which I can anchor bolt into, thats 9 blocks under each frame ( was planning on 2 frames, with 4 panels each), then another 2 blocks ...

Re: New ground array

Hey, so my neighbours/family have agreed to me adding another solar array in part of their field next door, :) here - https://i.postimg.cc/fS79nTJZ/IMG-20240118-090908.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/xJjJPQkh/IMG-20240204-162901.jpg Orientation just slightly south east should compliment the slightly south...
