Dogger Bank power cable
This is interesting I think. Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farms are so far off shore and the capacity so large, that they will use HVDC to bring the power back on-shore - and the transformer station in Dogger Bank will be completely autonomous. https://renews.biz/69293/dogger-bank-unveils-unmanned-hvdc...

Mocean wave power device
Looks like a new wave power generation machine is being tested up in Orkney. No information about how much power it's meant to generate though.

Re: Financial tail wagging the energy dog?
Aah, good old "solar freakin' roadways" - haven't heard much about any of those for a while. A bit like the "wind turbines installed alongside the edge of motorways that don't need the wind as they're powered by the passing traffic turbulence. Right oh...

Sono motors upgrades battery
https://electrek.co/2021/06/24/sono-motors-upgrades-sion-battery-upping-its-range-and-charging-rate/ Firstly, I'm surprised Sono Motors is still going - I was convinced this was all hot air and no trousers. Secondly, I'm still surprised the "solar panels on the car" thing is actually usefu...

Another pumped hydro scheme in "planning". Although this time an expansion of capacity to the existing facility.

This is kind of what happens when Government fails to provide investment in national infrastructure having sold off the entire system for profit.
