Plants may grow better with raised CO2 concentrations either in or out of polytunnels, please explain what that has to do with global warming with some proper science if you will. Ta

Re: What would YOU do??
A couple of the people who organise the meetings had Covid so last weeks was cancelled, I did meet a couple of others along with my customer at the local pub, it was an interesting evening. There are some very smart people trying to make a difference, fair play to them. I will go along to the full m...

Stopping all aviation could curtail a few percent of global warming at best, we need to do an order of magnitude better than that at least and fast. With our esteemed leaders behaving like cavemen still chucking rocks at each other. Basically we are screwed.

Re: What would YOU do??
Thanks for those thoughts gents, I am going to one of the local meetings probably tomorrow to see what their set up is like.
Like many of you I don't see much advantage in cheesing off too many of the general public, but maybe their strategy is deeper than that? Only one way to find out.

Re: Gas Usage while on holiday?
Still away and boiler now firing up twice a day! It’s 19.7 deg where the stat is located so it’s not calling for heat. Further investigation required!! https://i.postimg.cc/vDysBQdm/A387-B68-C-E25-E-4571-A28-C-43-EB3-EAA7617.jpg That gas consumption looks about right for the preheat function/day, o...

What would YOU do??
I was somewhat surprised to learn that earlier this week one of the Just Stop Oil protesters at Wimbledon Tennis was one of our good customers. We did a whole house refurb for him a few years ago during which we had many interesting chats about environmental issues. He is very clued up and passionat...

Re: Gas Usage while on holiday?
I think you have a fault or an incorrect setting in the engineers menu, the anti seize function only runs the pump, and on some boilers also the fan, for a few seconds 24 hours after it last ran. It should not fire the burner as well. If you have the installation manual try to enter the engineers m...

Re: Thames water, asset stripped & going down the pan?
Interesting discussion of the scale of this rip-off, https://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2023/06/29/englands-water-industry-is-environmentally-insolvent/ privatisation was always a rip-off but well fell for Thatchers "tell sid" bollocks and even voted for it, some still believe it  I...

Re: Shedhenge
Having been live now for nearly four months it seems timely to add a progress update, if any of you are still awake :D In early Feb the woodstore/shed array was connected, 6 of Canadian solar 410W panels. https://i.postimg.cc/qNdWt8jR/IMG-8635.jpg This shows the steel sections Mr Smegal sold to me ...
