Second PV system performance

#1

Post by Joeboy »

Second system PV has now been in and running for 1 year. The system has generated 1,670kWh of power and been excellent. Alongside the woodstove this has dropped our gas use from 18,892kWh (Sept 19-Aug 20) to 13,717kWh (Sept 20-Aug 21), A fall in gas use of 5,175 kWh .

Electricity is a slightly different story, across the same time period we have risen from 3,091kWh to 3,523kWh bought from grid.
As this increase of 432kWh includes the use of an EV which the previous year did not, i consider this to be a success. (8,000 miles in Leaf).

At 30mpg that's 266 gallon of fuel not bought or just over £1,500 not wasted on FF in vehicle and around £185 on gas not burned. At 15p per kWh for electricity that would be £64.80 spent on the extra 432kWh. That's a fair exchange to say the least. :D

Its not been about the money for a long time now, getting that gas Sub 10MWh is now the game.

Thanks again Nowty, she's a winner! I like the graph as it shows clearly the extra HP and raw grunt gained.

Its even better when you consider that 266 gallons of petrol is over 10,000 kWh and your extra leccy import is much lower carbon based.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Soon to be clean as a whistle, I wonder when they'll start on the founds in Wales?

Now £430 in credit with Octopus and down to £20 per month DD. Had my first 'we'll check these figures and get back to you' mail today on submitting a reading. Feels like a badge of honour! :)
