Didn't intend the immersion to charge form batts during off peak it just happened. Unsure of how to stop that occurring, similar with the EV too I guess!
My inverter has two places to set timers. The first: "Charge priority" sets the time period where the battery will not discharge. The 2nd: "AC Charge" where it actually charges the battery.

Fortunately we can use the hw tank as the buffer. On a sunny day the immersion heater will heat it to 60C using any PV left after battery charging. Diverter has its CT nearest the meter so only genuine surplus is used for this.

Backstop if still less than 55C at 1800 is the oil boiler heats the water until 1930, enough for showers by 1830 and still hot by morning. Price is the same as off-peak electricity at about 11p/delivered kWh.

Longstop if boiler unusable is to use immersion at night, only then do I have to re-program the inverter so it charges (or at least doesn't discharge) during that period.

Looking ahead yesterday, at todays forecast I took a punt with SOC and set to just 40% overnight for which they drew a couple of kWh's. Today has been mostly sunny with a mix of thin high cloud, so lucky there and batts now showing 90% and DHW showing 70 degrees. But, with an iffy forecast and Sunday roast on the cards for tomorrow have set SOC to 75%. No idea if they'll require any topping up come 4am!

I generated 165 kwhs this October compared to 104 kwhs last Oct.
Only 1 kwh exported back to the grid and 44 kwh of "spare" went into my immersion tank instead.
