Plus one- sterling job!

I got another 150W panel this week to move around the yard chasing sunshine :)

Its not much but it will help a bit till I can get some bigger schemes on the go.

Thanks all! So far it looks like this experiment was a good success, the fog broke earlier today and the watts have been steadily coming in!

The vertical array should provide some useful base power generation whilst the garage array is shaded throughout the day.
My neighbours may think my wife and I are somewhat odd now, but I'd rather know we're doing what we can to reduce our carbon impact.
Much reduced bills are rather nice though...

When I started building our house ten years ago, lots of people thought I was odd. I faced scepticism from just about everyone involved (except our main contractor), as very few people thought that building a super-insulated house, with loads of solar panels and a heat pump made sense.

Fast forward to this year and views have markedly changed. I've had a steady stream of people ask me for advice on how to reduce their bills over this past year, and I have the feeling that all those that were very sceptical about the way this house was built have now changed their minds,
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

Another mini update for those considering any vertical PV installations.
December has been pretty sunny at points here, but the garage array only gets about an hour of clear sun per day.
The 1.2kWp on the wall is making a massive difference though, contributing 11.33kWh so far this month, compared to 13.18kWh from the 10 panel array.

The wall is shown here in yellow. A good contribution for little additional outlay!

I would suggest you clear your windows of all that criss cross white stuff and significantly increase the passive solar gain !

I have had new windows on my long-term list for a while, but it's very low down compared to preparing for an eventual ASHP installation.
