There is shortly a consultation going on - info for the public to avoid too many objections - for a ‘small’ (I’m joking) development around a village less than 5 miles from us. Some of it would be much closer than 5 miles.
Rather larger than that in the local cement works quarry (expanded since I last visited the quarry). It was 9MW but is now 12MW. I expect the cement works does not (often) export any generation from that site.
Quite a large solar farm, actually, covering about 880Ha of land (well over 2000 acres) and supposedly 350MW.
I think I may go to one of the three upcoming public presentations to get more info on it.
